We believe in the free access to information. This means you can republish our stories online, in broadcast or print for free, provided you follow the following guidelines:
Guidelines for Republishing
- You may republish our articles online, in broadcast and print. We would appreciate details of when and where the material was published so we can share it with the author and track the reach of their content. Please send links, scans or broadcast details to nik@mict-international.org.
- As long as you follow the guideline on this page, you do not require written consent. Copy and/or download content for republication.
- You may only edit our material to reflect relative changes in time, location and editorial style. If you wish to make material edits of any type, including translations, you will need to run them by the author for approval before publication. Authors can be contacted by the contact button that accompanies their author profile.
- You must credit authors and their institutions, ideally in the byline.
- You must credit The Niles and the Nile Basin Media Network and include a backlink to our home page or the article URL. We prefer a credit at the top of the article. For example, “This article was first published by The Niles, an initiative under the Nile Basin Media Network.”
- You may not sell our material separately, but putting our articles on pages with ads is OK.
- You are responsible for confirming your permission to republish images in our articles. Some images we use are not licensed for use by third parties without their consent and payment. You are welcome to omit our images or substitute your own.
- You may not systematically republish all our articles.
